Main Responsibilities
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the station and cover other locations in the Kent area.
This will include assisting with the improvement of station facilities provided for our customers and staff, working in parallel with our maintenance contractor.
You will support in reducing company costs by carrying out repairs to minor faults as and when they occur. This will reducing call out and contractor fees and ensuring the highest standards are consistently delivered to our passengers and staff.
Please note, the successful applicant will be required to attend Hastings Station at the start and end of each shift to pick up and drop off the company vehicle and must have a full (and clean) UK driving licence for company insurance and be over the age of 21.
Shifts start at approximately 06.00am.
The Ideal Candidate
The experience you’ll need
You don’t need railway experience to do this role. We’re looking for people from all backgrounds to join our team.
All you need is:
- General “handy person” skills
- Experience of carrying out reactive minor maintenance works
- Experience of completing works to agreed SLA's issued via an electronic diary system
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Able to work using own initiative and judgement as part of a team
- Good communication skills and the ability to get on with people at all levels
- An understanding of the railway environment and any key relationships within it.
- Knowledge of National Station Access Conditions (desirable)
